"Psalms 81"
(Verse by verse reference analogy)
( A view of Gods desire to feed and water Israel )

1. Sing aloud unto God our strength: ( Jeremiah 31:7 For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel) (Psalms 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength,) make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. (Israel ) ( Psalms 46:1 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. )

2. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. ( Psalms 95:1-2 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.)

3. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. ( II Chronicles 2:4 Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.)

4. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. ( Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.) ( Exodus 31:16-17 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: ( Ezekiel 20:19-20 I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.)

5. This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not. ( Psalms 114:1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language. ) ( Exodus 13:8-9 And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the Lord's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the Lord brought thee out of Egypt. )

6. I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots. ( Exodus 6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: ) ( Isaish 9:4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. ) (Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. )

7. Thou calledst in trouble, and I ( God ) delivered thee; (Israel ) I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. ( Exodus 2:23-24 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. ) ( Exodus 19:20 And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.) ( Numbers 20:24 Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.)

8. Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; ( Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:) (Nehemiah 9:16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments. )

9. There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. ( Deuteronomy 6:14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; )

10. I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. ( Psalms 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. )

11. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. ( Proverbs 1:29-31 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. )

12. So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels. ( Jeremiah 44:16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. ) ( Jeremiah 7:24-26 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers. )

13. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! ( Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! ) ( Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river! )

14. I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. ( Psalms 47:3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. )

15. The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured forever. ( Psalms 18:43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. )

16. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee. ( Psalms 147:14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. ) ( Deuteronomy 8:7-8 For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; )

( Revelation 22:1-2 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. )
