President Bill Clinton began the Camp David peace summit on July 11th, and continued to press extremely hard for conciliatory gestures by Israel for the cause of Middle East peace. For a two week period, culminating on July 25th, our President utilized every power availed to him in his attempt to broker an agreement between Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat.
The public photo-imagery of Barak sidestepping a seemingly gracious Arafat as the two of them entered the doorway to the negotiating tables of Camp David seemed to symbolically underscore the dancing being politically orchestrated to reach this dramatic point.
Unquestionably Arafat came to the summit meeting fully aware that he would be the beneficiary of all the gifts. His only concern was as to whether he would get all the gifts that he wanted. Such has become the usual case for Clinton Summit meetings on Israel.
Prime Minister Barak was quite willing to come to the Camp Party bearing many gifts, but at least to his credit he did try to obtain Yasser Arafat's signature to be affixed to an "end of conflict" clause. The proposal by Barak to offer Arafat everything except sovereignty of the city of Jerusalem, exposed the real objective and stumbling block to the entire peace process!
Even President Clinton was critical of Arafat's tough stance concerning Jerusalem. In post summit interviews, President Clinton seemed dismayed that Jerusalem was such a perplexing problem. President Clinton was in high hopes that he could resolve the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians before the expiration of his presidency in five months. Our President doesn't seem to realize that by burdening himself with the dilemma of Jerusalem, that he has placed our nation in absolute direct opposition to God's providence concerning the city of Jerusalem, and the Land of Israel!
President Clinton actually was quoted as saying; "God, I have never experienced anything nearly so difficult as the subject of Jerusalem". Were he even remotely familiar with the Prophetic Word of God he would already have realized the part Jerusalem is already playing in end-time events; and he'd be aware that the appearance of the Antichrist occurs in conjunction with the world's presupposing need to resolve the diplomatic burdensome-stone which Jerusalem indeed is!
Psychologists have even invented a name for the controversy over Jerusalem. It is known world-wide as "The Jerusalem Syndrome"! The Bible refers to this international preoccupation that Jerusalem has become as, "A Cup of Trembling"; and "Burdensome Stone".
Our illustrious President who says that the Bible is irrelevant in matters concerning the Middle East Peace Process, might have been well advised to read Zechariah 12:3 before attempting to negotiate away Israel's rights in Jerusalem!
Zechariah 12:2-3 Behold, I ( God ) will make Jerusalem a Cup of Trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people; all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
If President Clinton perceived the relevance of the Holy Bible, and its prophetical significance related to Jerusalem and the West Bank (Judah); then perhaps he would not risk endangering the fate of the United States over the Cup of Trembling that God has indeed made of the city of Jerusalem!
My speculation about the mysterious absence of any mention of the United States in Bible Prophecy would be predicated upon the fact that the USA simply isn't present because it has been cut to pieces because of its burdening endeavor to resolve the controversy over the city of Jerusalem, and also because of the tremendous effect the Rapture would likely incur upon our nation.
The United States has been at the forefront of the world's 52 year long attempt to disengage Israel from full possession of the land won in wars with its Arab neighbors, and also to enforce the partitioning plan of the United Nations known as UN Resolution 181.
This foreign policy initiative of our government has cast our once proud Christian nation directly opposite the plan of God for his people, and made us strangely confederated together with all the nations of this world that hate Israel.
Analyze the UN confederacy against Israel in these verses:
Psalms 83:2-7 For, lo, thine enemies make a tummult; and they have lifted up the head.
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, "Come, let us cut them (Israel) off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in memory. For they have consulted together with one consent; they are confederate against thee:
The US State Department along with the President have coerced Israel into concession after concession, in an attempt to maintain US superpower status by trying to appease oil interests in Arab lands, and perpetuating America's diplomatic influence and muscle throughout the entire Middle East region.
